Dr. Bralow’s Beginner-cise

Exploring different ways to exercise and improve your health I started my complimentary Beginner-cise series so people can try different ways to be active. I think gyms and specialty classes can be a scary place with all the unfamiliar equipment, loud music and spandex. Our fitness coaches are there to encourage and teach – not to shame and blame. I’ll also be participating in all of the classes, not teaching.

Staying healthy and improving your health both start with basic building blocks –keeping up with your preventative care, sleeping well, not using tobacco, maintaining your weight at a BMI between 18-25, keeping your cholesterol below 200, eating less meat, eating more fruits and vegetables and, of course, staying active.

My goal is to introduce people who normally don’t “exercise” to lots of different activities hoping that they will find thing(s) that they want to continue doing on a regular basis. These sessions are also a terrific opportunity for those of you who do exercise but want to try out some different ways to be active – especially if you want to jazz up your usual routine.

Water Aerobics with Pia Martin

We had a great time at the St. James indoor pool, learning water aerobics.  Thank-you Pia Martin and the St. James at Washington Square.

City Fitness Gym with JP

We used balls, resistance bands and our own bodies to work up a sweat, burn some fat and strengthen our muscles while having fun and laughing. Thank-you JP and City Fitness gym.
